Endocontrol is proud to announce that the first surgery with its latest CE marked product, JAiMY was held on the 19th of December 2011. Prof. Brice Gayet, head of digestive disease’s department at the Institut Mutualiste Montsouris, has successfully completed a laparoscopic Heller Myotomy with anti-reflux cure. Among the robotic devices available on the market, JAiMY is the only robotic laparoscopic instrument that goes through a 5mm cannula. This extraordinary instrument holds in its heart many technological innovations and should be a small revolution in the operating room.During the first intervention, JAiMY has allowed precise control of the needle during suturing of the Heller Myotomy with the anti-reflux valve and the diaphragmatic pillar. JAiMY being the only 5mm motorized articulating laparoscopic needle holder, using any other robotic tool would have required to double the size of the incision.JAiMY is reusable and sterilizable for improved economics and cost containment and will benefit a wide variety of surgical procedures in different clinical specialties, including urology, bariatric surgery, general surgery, gynecology and cardiothoracic surgery.
